ADOPTIONS ARE LIMITED TO RESIDENTS OF AUSTIN AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
WE DO NOT ALLOW OUT-OF-STATE ADOPTIONS.

PLEASE NOTE:  Adoption applications may take several days to process; we will respond to your request as soon as possible. Puppies may be placed in foster-to-adopt homes as early as 8 weeks of age, however their adoption will not be finalized until they are spayed or neutered which occurs after 12 weeks of age. Unsterilized puppies cannot be placed into homes outside of the general Austin area.

Please consider this before adopting a puppy. Adopting a young puppy is very much like adding a baby to the family. It is a lifestyle change. They need lots of love, patience, training, time, a good diet and extra medical care. They will destroy your favorite things, try your patience and many days have you asking yourself, "What was I thinking"?

A pet is a lifetime commitment and adopting should never be done on impulse. Do your research and a lot of soul searching. Yes, there will be joy, love and highs. But there will also be periods of lows & frustration.

Every adult animal in a shelter was once a puppy or kitten that someone thought they couldn't live without. Now they are abandoned and left to die while more puppies are being adopted. If you are not prepared for living with and committing 10-15 years to your new family addition, do not adopt. Pets are not disposable.

Sponsors needed for leg surgery
Thanks to Michael & Ersilia Ash, Carolyn Patton, The King family, Mary Wallace, RJ Smith, Linda Haslam, Roxanne Barr, Julie Anton, Lisa Sears, Ramona Ruffino, Patricia Kurtz, Daniel Cordova, Michael Krueger, Tami Rodgers, Laura Pierce, Mary Southon and Janet Harper for their support.

POOR LEONARD !!! HE NEEDS YOUR HELP ..... Our Leonard had found his forever home but the same day he fell from his foster's arms and broke his right front leg badly. He was in terrible pain thankfully our Vet, Dr. Howell, from the Crossing animal hospital came into her clinic as a personal favor and examined, medicated, x-rayed, splinted and gave him pain medications. We contacted Dr. Lewis at the Animal Trustees of Austin and was told that Leonard needed to have his leg plated. The cost would be approximately $1270, far less then a Specialist's office but still out of our reach with all of our other medical expenses this year. We have scheduled his surgery for April 1st and pray donations will continue to come in for it. He just cannot wait any longer to have the surgery completed. If you can donate even $10, all donations count. Leonard has a PAYPAL PAW where you can donate. His bill for his emergency visit was paid by a fabulous donor and we want to acknowledge her gift but the clinic took the donation over the phone and we do not have her name. We want to send a tax receipt and a personal thank you, if you are that person, you can contact Deborah at mbr_stuff@yahoo.com.

LEONARD......... Our little Leonard may be a Shepherd mix? He is a young dog with a big heart full of love for everyone once he knows them. 'LEN" is great with other dogs smaller and around his size but has not been around large dogs. He would love a nice yard in which to run and play and an adopter who is home much of each day as he can be shy and needs some added attention and house training.

Leonard's adoption fee of $250 includes his Vet visit, age appropriate vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm prevention, neuter and microchip.

Parker is full of puppy enthusiasm and really enjoys play-time. He loves other dogs and playing. He will chase a tennis ball or other toy and usually bring it back. Parker is looking forward to having a home where he will receive the training he needs to be the best he can be. He requires a fenced yard and someone home much of the day. Due to his small size and sharp puppy teeth, no children under the age of 5 please.

CHUMLEY Male 4.5 mos 20 lbs.

CHUMLEY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME ..... He is your average exuberant Lab puppy who needs someone to teach him house manners. He is growing very fast. In order to have him develop a great personality and become a well behaved guy, he must have someone with the time, energy and desire to help shape his future.

"Chummie" was found by one of his foster's neighbor's in their swimming pool, paddling along trying to find his way out. They were luckily there to help him out, they had not seen him before and could not find his home. So they contacted us and we were very excited to take him into our group to find him a very special home. We anticipate he will weigh 60-70 lbs when full grown. He really wants a fenced yard to run and run and have lots of time and fun with his new family.

Chumley's adopter should be home much of the day as he needs exercise, attention and training. We can tell already that he is very intelligent and anxious to learn! Did we mention that he has a gorgeous velvet coat?

Chumley's adoption fee of $250 includes his Vet visit, age appropriate vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm preventative, neuter and microchip.

TEDDY Male 4 mos 13 lbs.

Sponsors needed for parvo treatment
Thanks to Tracy Howard , Dee Dee Yelverton, Alexandra Hamilton, Brandon Breckenridge, Roxanne Barr, Raquel Mendenhall and Alexis Denny for their support.

UPDATE 4/15/14: Teddy's foster called me to say she had taken him to her Vet because he had vomited and was lethargic. He was diagnosed with Parvo. :( He has been with our group since the 28th of March and this is unexpected. He is being treated at the Crossing Animal Clinic. We are hoping that since we caught the symptoms very early on we will be able to save his life. As usual, when we get surprised by an unexpected Vet bill, we ask for your help with Teddy's hospitalization and recovery. Parvo is very expensive to treat properly and could easily end up being $500 +. You can donate directly to his Vet, 512-331-9737, or through Teddy's PAYPAL PAW.

TEDDY........... Teddy & Eleanor are quite the pair - campaigning endlessly for a forever home. They are young puppies with young-puppy energy. They are coming along on their housebreaking and crate training. They will probably be medium activity level dogs as adults. These are some people-lovin' puppies. They love attention and being near their people and aren't the independent type that like to hang out by themselves. There mix is unknown, but we suspect it is perhaps some sort of husky, or shepherd, and maybe lab. Who knows? Who cares? The result is adorable.

Teddy has been described as an Aussie - German shepherd cross look-alike. They are mouthy as puppies tend to be and probably would overwhelm a young child with their enthusiasm and sharp baby teeth. They may be as large as 50 to 60 pounds full-grown.

More Pictures:  #1, #2

Teddy's adoption fee of $250 includes a Vet visit, vaccinations, worming, neuter and microchip.

CUERVO Male 2 months 5 lbs.

SWEET BLUE BOY! Cuervo was born into his foster home after his mother, Taylor, was rescued. Mom is a yorkie mix and we suspect Cuervo's dad may have been a blue dachshund based on his color and size. Puppy charts predict he will be in the 16 pound range as an adult.

Knowing that Cuervo is a terrier mix, he will do best in a home that allows for some energy and noise. Apartments are not an ideal fit due to his age (exposure to too many other dogs) and the vocal tendencies of his breed.

Cuervo was the mellow pup in his litter and loves his human lap time. His stocky little legs slow him down compared to some of his siblings, but he is very playful. He is around many other dogs in his foster home and a doggie sibling would be great too.

More Pictures:  #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6
Picture #6 is mom.

Cuervo's adoption fee of $250 includes his vet exam, age appropriate vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm prevention, neuter and microchip. Because of his age we will need to delay his neuter and microchip. Only Austin area families can be considered. The adopter will engage in a neuter contract and give a $100 refundable deposit.

ADOPTION PENDING! Rita was born into her foster home after her mother, Taylor, was rescued. Mom is a yorkie mix and we suspect Rita's dad could have been a cairn mix. Puppy charts predict she will be in the 10-14 pound range as an adult. Rita is very people motivated and loves to be held and cuddled. She will cry to be picked up if she hears voices in her room. Her foster dad is her favorite cuddle buddy.

Knowing that Rita is a terrier mix, she will do best in a home that allows for some energy and noise. Apartments are not an ideal fit due to her age (exposure to too many other dogs) and the vocal tendencies of her breed. She will be ready to go to her new home at 8 weeks of age (mid-April) and will need a family who is prepared to deal with all the fun of a young puppy. She is around many other dogs in her foster home and a doggie sibling would be great too.

ADOPTION PENDING FOR ELEANOR......... Eleanor & Teddy are quite the pair - campaigning endlessly for a forever home. They are young puppies with young-puppy energy. PIXEL Female 8 wks 2.5 lbs.

ADOPTION PENDING / TONS OF PERSONALITY IN A TINY BODY!!! Pixel is a cute as can be Chihuahua mix puppy who we rescued from the Corine T. Smith Animal Shelter along with her Sister, Pigeon. Both puppies are smart, really playful and feisty. The puppies are competitive and play really hard together. We will be adopting them out separately so that each can develop their individual personalities.

Pixel and Pigeon's adopters must work from home or stay at home much of the day. These babies are not house trained and cannot be expected to not soil throughout the day. That is pretty much what puppies this age and size do -- eat, play, sleep and poop! Also, we require a home with a very safe privacy fenced yard, no swimming pool and no children under the age of 5 years. These pups are really fragile and could be easily harmed by mishandling. Because they are not old enough to be safe from Parvo, their exposure to anything other then their back yard is strongly discouraged.

More Pictures:  #1, #2, #3

Pixel's adoption fee of $250 includes her Vet exam, age appropriate vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm prevention, spay and microchip. Because of their small size we will need to delay their spays and microchips until they are 4 months old. So NO OUT OF AUSTIN AREA ADOPTIONS. The adopter will engage in a spay contract and give a $100 refundable deposit once the spay is done.
