ADOPTIONS ARE LIMITED TO RESIDENTS OF AUSTIN AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
WE DO NOT ALLOW OUT-OF-STATE ADOPTIONS.

PLEASE NOTE:  Adoption applications may take several days to process; we will respond to your request as soon as possible. Puppies may be placed in foster-to-adopt homes as early as 8 weeks of age, however their adoption will not be finalized until they are spayed or neutered which occurs after 12 weeks of age. Unsterilized puppies cannot be placed into homes outside of the general Austin area.

Please consider this before adopting a puppy. Adopting a young puppy is very much like adding a baby to the family. It is a lifestyle change. They need lots of love, patience, training, time, a good diet and extra medical care. They will destroy your favorite things, try your patience and many days have you asking yourself, "What was I thinking"?

A pet is a lifetime commitment and adopting should never be done on impulse. Do your research and a lot of soul searching. Yes, there will be joy, love and highs. But there will also be periods of lows & frustration.

Every adult animal in a shelter was once a puppy or kitten that someone thought they couldn't live without. Now they are abandoned and left to die while more puppies are being adopted. If you are not prepared for living with and committing 10-15 years to your new family addition, do not adopt. Pets are not disposable.

MACK Male 5.5 mos 10 lbs.

**FOSTER HOME NEEDED ** MARVELOUS MACK... Mack is a busy little puppy who is some type of Terrier (possibly Heeler) mix. He may gain a few pounds, but we do not expect him to be more than 15 pounds as an adult.

He plays well with other dogs but to our knowledge he has not yet met a cat. He has been very good with children at our Meet and Greets.

Mack needs house training and some basic puppy classes. He is crate trained. We are looking for an adopter who can be in and out if the house during the day or works from home. Since Mack loves to run and play we require a fenced yard.

Mack's adoption fee of $250 includes age appropriate vaccinations, Vet visit, monthly preventative, worming, neuter and microchip.

CALVIN Male 6 mos 48 lbs.

CALVIN.... who has been renamed Tucker by his foster home. Calvin seemed a bit too serious for this exuberant lab puppy and Tucker suits him better. He is still looking for his forever home and his Mom tells him "today may be the day when your forever home comes along". Until then, we have lots of fun in his foster home. He loves to play with other dogs, enjoys the water at the dog park and creeks at Turkey Creek. He is also fond of car rides and puppy cups at Shakes.

Tucker is house trained and crate trained (even though he is not a fan of his crate). He knows how to use the doggy door, sit, down, high-five and does well walking on a leash. He is really good with chewing on a bone and will happily lay at your feet while sitting at the computer or watching TV. He also has the times of pure puppy zoomies.

He would love a fenced yard in which to play and a canine companion or someone who works from home or is home most of the day. He is the perfect candidate for obedience classes to help him be the best dog he can be.

He has also learned how to use a doggy door. Is still very much a puppy and needs/likes chew toys. Great with other dogs, has not been around children. Needs a loving forever home.

FIRECRACKER Male 4-5 mos 7 lbs.

SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP Our Firecracker is a spunky little Pomeranian/mix. He is playful and great with other dogs. Firecracker is lacking good manners and definitely needs an adopter that can commit to puppy classes and providing structure.

We require a home with an adopter who doesn't work outside of the home and who will house train.

Firecracker is too "nippy" for small children, he thinks he is quite fun so needs a few lessons on how to best the best little puppy ever.

OLIVIA Female 8 wks 2.2 lbs.

DARLING...... Little Olivia and her sister Sophia were surrendered to a shelter along with another little dog. We are guessing they are either Malti-poos or possibly Pom-poos. They have great personalities and do great with other dogs but sometimes their pulling on tails does get them in trouble. Toys are their best friends and they love to run and play with each other.

We expect to receive several applications for each puppy and will be reviewing all for what we feel is the best possible match between adopter and puppy. Adoptions will only be allowed in the general Austin area. Absolutely no out of state adoptions.

Since the puppies are too small to be spayed for a couple of months, a spay agreement with a deposit will be required. Due to their small size we will not be adopting to families with children under 8 years of age. A home with a safe fenced yard is required because of diseases that can be harbored in the grass around apartments & public areas. That there must be someone that is home during the day or works from home.

Any other requirements will be discussed with each applicant.

Olivia's adoption fee of $300 includes age appropriate vaccination, worming, monthly heart worm preventative, upcoming spay and microchip.

FREE home manners class available + $25 off classes/behavior consultations at Hearts and Paws with the adoption of this dog.
