TREY Male 2-4 yrs 45 lbs.

Sponsors needed for medical expenses.
Thanks to Kim Brown, Laura Ehrlich, Charlotte Weiss, Lyn Brauer for her support.

TROUBLE FOR TREY!!! Trey is a 2-4 year old Shepard mix who was just picked up by by animal control (north of Austin) as a stray. His right front leg is injured and swollen to the size of a grapefruit. He dragged his leg and can not bear weight.

He was taken to a Vet who x-rayed his leg and contacted us to try and get him into rescue. We were told that he has been suffering for some time. He has nerve damage and degeneration in the bone. The only solution for him is amputation. Who could imagine leaving this poor dog to die after he had suffered so for who knows how many days or weeks. He is malnourished, his ribs are showing and he is about 20 pounds underweight.

We commited to rescuing Trey and have a foster willing to keep him during his recovery. We need help with medical expenses which include his amputation, medicine, bandages, and other medical expenses. We are waiting for results of his heart worm test but will not be a bit suprised if he is positive given his past life.

If you can help us help Trey get back some quality of life, please click on his PAYPAL PAW, any amount of support will be appreciated.

TOOTSIE Female 6 yrs 35 lbs.

FASTEST DOG ON THE BLOCK!! My name is Tootsie and I am most likely a Hound / Heeler mix but that is a big guess because no one ever met my parents. I am a great dog who would make you a wonderful forever companion. I am loyal, attentive and loving!

Before my human parents got a divorce, I lived in a nice house with a back yard, used a doggie door and am the first to tell you, I am house trained. I lived with older children in my old home but I would be happy to play with children as young as 6 years. I have not lived with cats, but would certainly consider learning about the little fuzz balls.

Toot, toot, I am such a brain child! I sit and extend a paw on command, especially for a treat. Whenever I see a leash I am sure it means that I get to go for a walk, which I really like! I play with toys and will even chase after one that squeaks, but lose interest when asked to bring it back, do I look like a retriever? I am very food and treat driven and will counter surf if given a chance. What can I do so you will give me a treat? Please, please!!

I would love a home with a family who has lots of time and love to offer as I have lots of love and many years of devotion to give! I miss my old family very, very much and am crossing my paws that I will find my special forever home sooner than later! I am very athletic and love to RUN. I would make a great running companion.

PEPPER Female 9 mos 35 lbs.

I AM A LITTLE RED PEPPER !!! Pepper is very pretty red Australian Cattle dog with subdued markings and a little half bandit face. She has been with us too long. She came as a darling pup and is now a teenager--a very well-behaved teenager!

Pepper is quite submissive and a little shy which makes her the cuddliest red heeler ever! She loves tummy rubs and kisses and hugs, and to wiggle between the pillows and her sleeping foster mom. Like most heelers, Pepper is also very active, and loves the outdoors and lounging in her swimming pool (she likes to put her head under!). She would love a family with a not-too-dominant doggie with whom she could play, and one who would take her out for walks and to parks to build her confidence.

Pepper is easy to train, knows “sit” and “down,” sits not jumps when greeting people, is housetrained with a doggie door, and crate trained. We prefer an adopter with herding dog experience, someone home much of the day and a safe, fenced yard where she can keep her family safe from squirrels.

More Pictures:  #1, #2, #3, #4

Pepper's adoption fee is $250 which includes her vaccinations, worming, heartworm negative, spay and microchip.

GYPSY Female 8 mos 28 lbs.

HOW CAN YOU RESIST THIS PRETTY FACE??? Gypsy is a Heeler/Border Collie mix, a playful, active mix of two herding breeds. She has a darling personality, is very social and does well with people and other dogs. She enjoys playing in water and is beginning to discover the joys of "playing" with those pesky squirrels. Gyp is quick learner and very interested in whatever her people are doing. Perpetually happy and always on the move, Gypsy’s antics keep her foster mom in stitches!

This beauty's adopter should have experience with herding breeds, a safe, fenced yard, and either another dog or someone home during the day. She is partially house trained, but a doggie door will make all the difference. Her adopter must be committed to continuing her house training and providing training to address lingering some puppy behaviors (such as jumping up to greet guests) and keep her puppy mischievousness “channeled.”

More Pictures:  #1, #2, #3, #4, #5

Gypsy's adoption fee is $250 which includes her age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm negative, worming, spay & microchip.

SOME GUYS HAVE ALL THE "LUCK"... My name is Nelson, I am a very special and handsome Pomeranian! When I was rescued I was skinny, shaved to the skin, had rotten teeth which resulted in my jaw breaking. I needed surgery by a really nice doggie dentist named Dr. Capron. Lots of very kind people donated money to get me all fixed up. My coat is beautiful (full and shiny), I am a bit tubby now and I have the cutest grin!

Just when I thought I was ready for my forever home, my left knee cap started dislocating. It is very painful off and on. Many little dogs have this problem but mine needs surgery which may run as much as $1000.

Again, I really need your help, if you have a little to spare to help my knee cap stay in place, please click on my PAYPAL PAW.

QUENTIN Male 6-7 yrs 13 lbs.

QUENTIN! Quentin is very special dog who has had a rough life. He gets extremely excited when you go to pet him and his little nub tail just goes nuts. He makes some funny expressions and is truly a joy to have around.

On the medical side he has had surgery on his right hip joint before coming to us and a partial jaw removal after we got him. We believe he sustained these injuries either by abuse or by being hit by a car. He has recovered superbly from both. He walks and runs very well and eats his food like there is no tomorrow.

Quentin would do best as an only dog or with one female dog. He sometimes gets overwhelmed with too many dogs to play with. He has not shown aggressiveness to children, is well potty trained and obeys some basic commands.

Thank you to everyone who donated toward Quentin's surgery. We very much appreciate your support: James Kellams, Tara Pettersson, Laura Ehlrich, Rebecca Lopez, Terrie Beloin, KL Williams, Randy Randol, Meryl Wilk, Michael Ash, Ricky Bertani, Carmen Wallace & Ellen Ryan.

AQUARA Female 1+ yrs 30 lbs.

AQUARA........ Aquara is a happy little Lab / Dachshund and Min-Pin mixed breed dog. She was born on Feb 3, 2010, and with her astrological sign being Aquarius, she was named Aquara.

Aquara is about 30 pounds with a sweet personality and a lot of love to give. If you need a walking pal she is definitely your girl. Aquara is still a young lady so she really enjoys her chew toys. She will need some training but she is a very bright and will be an outstanding student. She is house and crate trained.

She is in need of a new home due to very young triplets and shortage of time. Though she’s been raised with small children, Aquara would be much happier in a home with children over the age of 8 or in an all adult home that would provide her with all the love and attention. She’s not been exposed to many other dogs so it may be best for her to be an only dog but introductions to your dog would be welcomed.

POTTER Male 8 yrs 70 lbs.

***REFERRAL POSTING *** POTTER.... is a spunky, goofball of a dog. He is probably a hound mix. He loves people, especially kids. He gets along well with cats (mostly, he just ignores them). He loves belly rubs, giving high fives, tearing apart stuffed animals, chasing squirrels and riding in the car with his head out the window. Potter is also a fantastic trail dog and will keep an eye on you during the entire hike. He wants to be where his people are at all times. Potter also enjoys howling at the fire truck when it goes by with the sirens blaring.

Potter does have a mild case of arthritis in his hindquarters, but a very small daily dose of Metacam has taken care of that issue splendidly. Potter is also a fantastic jumper. Fortunately, he’s never figured out how to jump over anything. But if he’s jumping for a ball or trying to get a squirrel up in a tree, he can get a good high jump. Despite his spunky ways, he’s a lap dog at heart and is always the first one to curl up on his dog bed in the evening.

Potter is current on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped.

CHARLIE Male 10 yrs 60 lbs.

** REFERRAL POSTING *** CHARLIE..... Charlie is a very sweet boy who would prefer spending every moment of the day in a lap, if he could. Even though he’s 10 years old, he has just two or three white hairs on his head and is in great physical shape. Charlie loves people, cats, rawhide bones and going out for hikes. We call him “the nursemaid dog” because he spends his evenings cleaning the other dogs and cats in the household. Charlie knows how to sit and lay down on command. He knows the hand signal for “speak”, as well. He gets along well with the neighbor kids and likes to run along while they bike around the cul-de-sac. Charlie can be a selective listener and has a tendency to wander around the neighborhood if not watched.

Charlie doesn’t love riding in the car like most dogs seem to, but he willingly tolerates car travel because he loves going to Turkey Creek and Redbud for hikes. Because of a slipped disc in his back when he was 2 years old (resulting in temporary paralysis of his hind legs and surgery to remove the disc), Charlie is not a jumper and needs a little help getting into the car. But he loves to run up and down the trails with his funny hopping run. Despite his occasional wandering ways in the neighborhood, he always stays nearby on the trails and is a really fantastic outdoor companion.

Sponsors needed for vet expenses.
Thanks to Lisa Morrill, Rebecca Lopez, Ramona Ruffino, Karen Brin, Stanton McNeely, Carol Cornett, Debbie Parker, Sammye Jaquess, Pamela Samboy & Teresita Vergara for their support!

GRAMMIE IS A FOREVER FRIEND... Our group has decided to keep Grammie as a "sanctuary" dog! We have worked diligently with our Vet and an Allergist to help her heal and gain comfort but she never gets totally better. This old girl is a doll and deserves a place where no matter what, nothing bad will ever happen as she continues into her golden years.

Grammie and her foster, would appreciate any donations for special foods, shampoos, medicines and medical follow ups! If you would like to donate toward Grammie's continued care, please click on her PAYPAL PAW

We love our Grammie, she has more personality in one little paw than most dogs have in all four! The thing with Grammie is that she will have a need for continuing lifetime care for her skin. Our Vets still have not been able to clear her up completely although they have certainly been trying. She has improved greatly since coming to us. She is a loving girl and it is what she deserves!! Grammie loves laps, car rides and sleeping curled up next to someone in bed. She appears house trained if let out on a regular basis. She does get yappy but is just trying to communicate, she is full of ideas.

SWEET SENIOR GRANDMA..... Our Grammie is a Pomeranian sweetie who has had a rough few years! She was a stray in a kill shelter and was rescued on her very last day. This girl was suffering with rotten teeth, fleas, a mammary infection, a foul smelling coat and very yeasty skin. Why would anyone let an animal suffer like that?

Grammie is current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and wormed.

We do not know about house training or cats. We are seeking a home with no young children as she is very dainty.

DAPHNE Female 3 yrs 8 lbs.

ADOPTION PENDING FOR DAPHNE...... ...... Daphne entered rescue and had to be shaved to the skin. Her hair is growing back soft as corn silk, and a natural blonde color to be envious of. We think she may be Maltese with maybe some Shih Tzu or Lhasa mixed in. Daphne can both be extremes of the spectrum. She loves to play at high speed but she also enjoys lap time. Daphne would be great as an only dog or if she has a playmate that loves to play A LOT!

She is quiet and reserved the Meet n' Greets but she is much better in her foster home. She is definitely a work in progress. We don't think she had much socialization in her life. She didn't even know how to eat out of a bowl, but rather had to eat with her food scattered on the floor. She didn’t' even know how to jump on furniture (which can be a plus!) She has made great progress since being in her foster home. She eats out of a bowl, and accidents in the house are becoming less frequent. She does great with frequent trips outdoors. She is crate trained and has not had accidents in her crate. She has done fine with kids at the Meet n' Greet but we have no idea how she would do with toddlers.

A household with kids over 10 years old would probably be best. Daphne needs someone who has patience and will take the time to continue her training. Someone who will teach her how to be an inside dog should behave and be treated. She will repay you with her love and loyalty. Oh and she loves to cuddle when you pick her up.
